DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month\, NAAAP DC WIN will be hosting its second Fireside Chat and first hybrid event of the year recognizing “Women in Leadership” with guest speaker Aggie Serrame on Wednesday\, May 25 at 6 PM ET. \nJoin us in-person at Purple Patch (3155 Mt Pleasant St NW\, Washington\, DC 20010) or online! Please be sure to select the appropriate ticket at check-out. \nBorn and raised in the Philippines\, Aggie served 5 years as a civil servant at the Federal Emergency Management Agency\, the National Institutes of Health\, and working her way to the White House upon moving to the US in her teens. Her career background focused on emergency management\, pandemic preparedness & planning\, and continuity of government. \nDuring her time in the government\, Aggie was directly involved in the COVID-19 national response collaborating with other pandemic experts. Her most notable work is preparing the White House during the 2021 Presidential Inauguration and Presidential Transition operations. Currently\, she is a Senior Consultant at Deloitte and Touché\, LLP expanding the firm’s continuity of government portfolio through her government client work. \n			 \n			 \n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			 \n				\n				\n			 \n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The event will kick off with a discussion of our guest speaker’s professional experiences and insights followed by an audience Q&A session. Aggie will be giving her personal insights on the challenges of being an immigrant in the country\, entering a male-dominated career path\, advocacy work\, and mentorship.
