The DC Chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) cordially invites you to our 2018 Leadership Conference: IGNITE.
NAAAP is a pan-Asian, pan-professional non-profit organization that cultivates and empowers Asian & Pacific Islander leaders through professional development, community service, and networking. This year’s annual conference, IGNITE, is pointed towards the spirit of unity in our community. We use this as a call to action in order to connect us together in the form of mentorship, sponsorship, and passing the torch of knowledge.
This conference will showcase speakers from a wide variety of concentrations to provide diverse perspectives on what brings them passion and the avenues they used to achieve their goals. Our educational workshops and keynote speakers will delve into pertinent topics for today’s working professional including “What I wish I knew in my 20’s and 30’s,” work values, cross-cultural communications, and mastermind breakout sessions. Through their diverse backgrounds and development strategies, our speakers will illuminate the intersections in our career paths and help us rise professionally as a community.

Sue Ann Hong’s workshop “Understanding your values: Finding clarity in decision making in your life and work” will give you the opportunity to examine these questions for yourself and how being clear in your values can help with whether or not these are the right choices for you.

- As we approach the 2018 midterm elections, NAAAP DC is excited to announce our “Purpose Sector: The Power of Public Service” session presented by our friends at the Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL)! Through this panel, we will explore how public policy affects our community including:- A general overview of the four major sectors (Private, Non-Profit, Federal, Legislative)- How public policy impacts our personal and professional lives- How to empower ourselves to pursue a career in public serviceOur panel moderator will be Soo Rho. She is a Senior Analyst for Public Policy & Government Affairs at PepsiCo. We also welcome our panelists Liz Jung, a Financial and Management Analyst in the federal government; Liz Lee, a legislative assistant to the U.S. House of Representatives; and Keith Preciados, a Manager of Membership and Standards at InterAction.
